More castle shots

We woke late but I have still felt tired all day. As it was absolutely pouring with rain until way past midday we just sat about chilling. Listened to The Archers and did a bit of my family history stuff.

With no let up in the weather we cooked a late dinner. We had bought fresh fish. Jon had trout and I had a kipper. At about 2.30 it seemed to have stopped raining so we put our warm coats and boots on and headed down into the village where I took the top photo, then on round the castle to the beach. Lots of people had the same idea. There are still clearly a lot of holidaymakers here. We walked along the beach then back up through the dunes. We needed the fresh air and exercise.

When we got back a Carry On film was on TV. So another excuse to crash out and doze.

Manda had told me that the Northern lights had been visible from Bamburgh last night and we missed it. We went out tonight at 9.30 to try and get a glimpse if it but if it is still visible then we were probably too early. I can't go out at 1am!

We are now heading to bed. Nothing really planned for tomorrow. Maybe a trip to Alnwick but not sure yet. Jon has a bad headache so we will see how he feels.
