Raindrops on Wire

I thought this photo of raindrops on wire looked quite abstract, particularly in mono. A day of distractions, I started by looking to see how many points I'd collected on my credit card and somehow ended up buying a new microwave - and not even with my points! Lots of bits of admin done and a bit of leaf collecting between rain showers.

Day 598 / Day 109 of Step 4 of Roadmap Easing (for my record only)
The latest REACT-1 study has shown that infections are at their highest ever recorded level in England at 1.72%. The UK has become the first country to approve an antiviral that can be taken at home for Covid. Malnupiravir (aka Lagevrio) will be taken by people with mild to moderate Covid who are at increased risk of developing severe disease. Oxford scientists have identified a gene that doubles the risk of respiratory failure from Covid. The gene is called LZTFL1 and it partly explains the excess deaths seen in certain communities as 60% of people with South Asian ancestry carry it, as do 15% of those with European ancestry and 2% of those with Caribbean ancestry. Hopefully it will lead to customised treatments, but the Professor leading the study says the increased risk 'should be cancelled out' by immunisation. Norfolk will finally get two walk in clinics for booster jabs next week, with one in Norwich and the other in Kings Lynn.
