A mini adventure ..

to Skipton and a jab!

Singing this morning,  a complete run through of the songs to be sung at the Christmas lights switch on in Bingley on Saturday and Skipton on Sunday.
I won’t be at either as family are coming and we have other plans but the same song list will carry over to Baildon’s switch on the following week.

We did get to a Skipton later as I’d booked our booster jabs there for this afternoon. Thought we might as well combine having them with an outing.

At the end of the Aire Valley by pass the police were sending people right round as the Skipton Road was closed. We headed through Kildwick, bottom  left, and then up through Farnhill.
When we dropped back to the main road we could see a long queue of traffic so drove straight across to Cononley and straight through towards Lothersdale. Down some lovely lanes to Carleton and into Skipton from the other end.
I’m never that certain of the way though these routes were very familiar to my dad who was born and raised in these parts. We often took the back lanes when we were with him.

Luckily we had plenty of time so still did a bit of shopping before our jabs. When the time came it was very efficient, a quick in and out and after our 15 minute wait we headed straight to Bizzie Lizzie’s for fish and chips. It was after 1.30 by then and we were famished.

No problems on the road on the way back. A quick stop in Bingley to get a train ticket for Sunday ( coming back from Leeds) and returned to the village just as the sun was setting.

The main picture is one of the murals that have been painted over the empty windows  of what used to be Rackhams, all with a winter / Christmas theme. Thought they were very much like the one Wendles56 has had done in her window. They were done by someone called Jenny so am wondering if it’s the same person.

A great little adventure on a beautiful day in the Craven Dales and Aire Valley with the added bonus of Boosters done!
