A time for everything

Out for lunch

Tuesday
I took a break from housework at lunchtime, and the three of us went downtown to Music Live at Lunch at Christchurch Cathedral. This week it was a solo classical guitar player, and he was very good and played some really nice music, but unfortunately it was so short. Usually these lunchtime concerts last about 50 minutes, so people can go on their lunch hour, but for some reason he cut an item from the program, and it was barely 40 minutes. Afterwards we went for some lunch at Mazunte, a Mexican place downtown. We had been to their other location before, but Laura had heard they’d recently opened a central location. It’s a casual type of place, selling Mexican street food fare. The art work on the wall caught my eye as we went in, together with the quote by Rumi “Raise your words not your voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder”
Our eldest daughter Jen and husband Jason are in the air as I’m writing, flying overnight from Salt Lake City to Las Vegas and then on to Cincinnati, arriving at 7.45 am to join us for Thanksgiving. Rather them than me! It will be a fleeting visit, as they will be leaving Sunday morning. Unfortunately Philip isn’t able to join us - we hope to see him at Christmas.
