Just Me and Their Doggie

Cloudy early, sunny in the afternoon. Highs in the mid 40 deg F. Another quiet day for hubby and me. I fed the birds and was rewarded by constant visits to the feeders. All the local song birds and woodies stopped by, tons of them. My sister was feeling rough so she and my BIL went to the town’s urgent care. She got antibiotics; hopefully they will kick in soon. It has been a shame she’s felt so yucky during most of this visit. A big tractor trailer broke their truck mirror and ran them up against a guard rail on the way home. Thankfully that was the worst of it but they were shook up. It’s a long way down off the side of those cliffs they call roads up here, no shoulders and very narrow lanes. Since the guy didn’t stop, they had to get police assistance. Meanwhile, Sugar and I snuggled on the couch with the Kindle, coffee and of course, a nap or two. We enjoyed my sister’s unique tree decorated with antique ornaments. Hubby’s knee has been swollen so he pampered it today. Once the travelers got home, we worked on a gift for the neighbor and read some more. I foresee just having a dessert snack later because we didn’t have lunch till around 3:30. Thanks for the visit. Some Americans (me for instance), are oblivious of world news. Had no idea about the former prime minister of the U.K. Hope no one was offended with yesterday’s quote. Take care as we see that new variant is now being found in several countries. "Petting, scratching, and cuddling a dog could be as soothing to the mind and heart as deep meditation, and almost as good for the soul as prayer." - Dean Koontz
