a lifetime burning

Bird in the treetops

I've not done much of interest today but I did find time to take a shot of this blue tit in the White Beam earlier on, in the low December sunshine.

I see that its now being reported that 3 vaccinations are the key to boosting your defences agains the Omicron variant of Covid that seems to be spreading like, well, like the plague here in the UK.  Hopefully anyone who is offered their booster is taking advantage as quickly as they can now, as that variant looks set to have displaced Delta as the most prevalent before Christmas.

Finally, returning to the theme of Christmas Parties (and why not, its the hot topic of the moment) I read with amusement that the government are still suggesting that its perfectly in order for people to attend work Christmas Parties despite the fact that they are now supposed to be working from home.  Presumably therefore if you do go to one, there can be no "work talk" at any such party, lest it breach the rules.  But, and wait for it because this is the best bit, while the government are not suggesting that work Christmas Parties should be cancelled, No 10 has now cancelled its own event.  Absolutely brilliant!

I feel like Kate in the TV comedy "Upstart Crow" explaining the plot of the comedy Hamlet while Will Shakespeare tries to insist at the same time that its not a comedy but a tragedy and the others fall around with laughter. You really couldn't make this stuff up.
