Santa delivery walk

Last week there was a village ‘Luncheon club’ Christmas lunch. It was the first since lockdown and was well enjoyed. There was a gift for each person attending but Chris forgot to take them!
So this week he has been delivering them to each individual.

One lady lives alongside the Leeds Liverpool canal at Crossflats so we decided to deliver her gift today and make it part of our walk. It was sunny and warm, Chris didn’t wear a jacket. We walked along the canal to Morton Lane and then branched off to follow Morton Beck up to the hamlet of Micklethwaite, before returning to the canal.  There is a more extensive walk which we will do another day but it was nice to see the old houses of Micklethwaite and the view along the Aire Valley as in the blip.

Back at the Bingley Five Rise Locks we had a coffee sitting outside the 5 Rise Cafe, a walk of just over 3.5 miles by the time we returned to the car.

Later I met friends to walk around the Christmas Tree Trail in our village. Funds to our village Horticultural Society. We set off just before dusk and there was a lovely sky. It was a bit hard to distinguish which trees were part of the trail and which were just part of peoples garden decorations but it was all very enjoyable.

We ended up in the pub where we met Chris and another friend  for a drink before returning home for tea.

No appointments today!
