Carols on the Compound

(20/12/21)

Carols on the Compound doesn't sound as good as Carols in the Desert or Carols on the Green (Wonersh), but this is what our local (Anglican) church do at Christmas time. They have over 80 congregations that meet on the compound worshipping in many different styles and languages. We saw about 3% of the ministry that happens there this evening. We got to hear choirs sing in English, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada, Tagalog, Arabic and an Eritrean language. They were very pleased to have the Salvation Army band playing the backing to a few carols that their choir sang. We, er, missed the Don Moen concert at the Coca Cola Arena for this. (Just saying!)

I think it was the coldest I've felt outdoors this year.

Prior to that, we were both very busy all day getting the place ready for G's friend, who is arriving tomorrow night to spend Christmas and the New Year here. Hours of ironing were done.
