Magic

Last full day of work, which started with two meetings in Soderberg, the first more of a chat, catch up and mentoring session and the other a fairly straightforward 1-2-1. I’d arrived early so enjoyed a Christmas bun….a cinnamon bun with added almond filling….delicious!
Dashed back home for a couple of other meetings online and successfully nearly emptied the inbox (finally!) before interesting final meeting with P which covered a lot and I managed to both pick up and pass on useful information.
Hogmanay celebrations have been cancelled. It had begun to feel inevitable but A&N really disappointed as they’d been looking forward to having their friends up here to see the fireworks, do the torch carrying procession and generally soak up the atmosphere. Their plans are now all up in the air at best, and they don’t know what they’ll be doing at all. I feel for them….it was something they’d been really excited about.
I’d booked for all 3 of us to go to the Nutcracker ballet, slightly nervous what they’d make of it as N has never been to one and A only once when she was much younger. We had supper first and all enjoyed it (fish and chips for me as standard!), then settled into some excellent seats and had a ball. Delighted how much they enjoyed it and Scottish Ballet was on great form. We sang the tunes they’d recognised on the way home and laughed about how impossible it would be to do the moves. So pleased they enjoyed it….I’ll have them at the opera before too long (well……we’ll see!). Feeling more Christmassy despite omicron’s best endeavours!
