Christmas Eve at Woodlands Park Road

I was partially able to have my half day today; no meetings and left the emails to wait for after the weekend. Still had phone calls to deal with matters like supervision, and the administration of the Mental Health Act. Both of those are generally (and certainly today) not any bother.

Wrapped presents for the Auckland-based grandies, while S did those for the daughters. Some parcels found their way to the base of the electronic tree, which is in the corner I think of as Reader's corner.

I wish everyone a happy time this Christmas, and especially, I hope that the effects of the Covid pandemic are at least tolerable and also effective. The most valuable result of the approach taken by the Government (on advice from the experts within the Ministry and in clinical practice) has been that at no stage has our health system been overwhelmed by the need created by Covid. Coming up to Christmas, our two specific Covid wards in the main hospital have empty beds.
