Moorhen

Took ourselves to the University this morning for a circuit of Airthrey Loch. Lots of ducks, swans, gulls and other fowl. Here's a moorhen, as much for the movement on the water as the bird. I was shocked (again) by the extent of the algae. This mild weather must encourage it 13° this morning. The water level was low so all the vegetation at the margins was visible. A few other walkers but it was pretty quiet.

Thanks for the encouragement on yesterday's gingerbread. I can report that it tastes fine though it does look a bit wonky.

I've started my Hogmanay cleaning but have already run out of enthusiasm for the task. I'll be a lot happier out in the garden so that's where I'm heading.
