The second half of life..

Tern choir

Lovely sunny morning - wind has pretty much gone.....just a few puffs but nothing like we've had the past few days.  In to town to drop off an appliance for fixing....again :(  It was under warranty (just) when they 'fixed ' it in August and now.......exactly the same problem again.  Grrrrr :\

Decided on a Boulder Bank side trip as I haven't been there in a while.  The terns didn't disappoint........lots of young one who all sang (screeched) raucoulsy each time an adult with a fish flew in from the Bay.  I had my camera trained on this one for quite some time in the hope of capturing the parent delivering his lunch but after over 30 minutes, no sign of parent returning.  I do hope he had something to eat today!

Home then to mow lawns before visitors arrived just after 5.00.

It'll be a quiet nite in for this old thing and then tomorrow - a whole new year begins :)  Let's hope that 2022 turns into the year covid was reined in and normality began to re-emerge.

Happy new year everyone - stay safe, stay distanced, stay healthy.

In COVID news today there were 49 new community cases; 46 are in hospital and 8 in ICU.  Significantly, there were no new omicron community cases today.  The speed and thoroughness of the follow-up once the original case was identified has surely helped us to (potentially) dodge a bullet.
