A 20-minute trip to Berwick-upon-Tweed

My middle sister and I played 'Pass the Ma-cel' with Mummy hazelh this morning. Together my mother and I caught the slightly delayed 09:30 LNER Kings Cross service from Edinburgh as far as Berwick. After 20 minutes in England, I returned alone to Edinburgh on the service that left London at 07:00, and was home again just before midday. Meanwhile Mummy hazelh crossed the causeway to Holy Island with my middle sister and brother-in-law for a one night stay.

I was going to write this afternoon, but I felt an urge to tidy so instead broke tradition and put away Christmas 2021 before Twelfth Night. This took quite a long time because as well as boxing everything up, I wrote some letters/emails to people who had sent us messages in their cards. We also took a couple of calls while restocking our Christmas hamper: we made plans with Liz and Tony to see them next Tuesday, and enjoyed a lovely long chat with Graham, who we last saw at his wedding on 6th July 2019.

I took my blip of the Berwick sign and part of the C12th castle wall just before I boarded the northbound train this morning.

Exercise today: small amount of walking (~8,000 steps).
