Near and far

A dry but dull morning today, and we decided to have a walk up to the radio mast on the far side of the bay. As I also wanted to buy some hyacinths from Homebase and some tropical fish from Pets at Home, we took the car down and parked at the edge of town and walked across the little concrete dam which used to mark the top of the curling pond, and up the track to the mast. The sun appeared to be on the verge of appearing above the clouds, but eventually we gave up waiting and walked down to the car.

We made a quick detour to Pulpit Hill when luckily the sun did come out. Just as well, as it was all happening! Ferries coming in and out, lit up by the sun against a dark background, and the coastguard helicopter making a sweeping circuit of the bay before landing on the helipad beside the Manor House - see extra.

My Blip today is of the cliffs at the north end of the island of Kerrera, with the snowy mountains of Mull in the background. Beautiful!
