A view from Jeanneb

Out in the dark at 7.00 am. A strip of is light as we approached the field from the St Ives Estate woods suggested the sun was on its way but nothing dramatic. The frosted ground made it good and firm for walking.

When we got to Coppice Pond there was a thin covering of ice keeping the swans away from the near side path but we were able to feed them at the far side where there was still access to the water, there is still a full complement of swans, minus one that died recently,  including one of the 2020 brood but dad has started chasing one of the later ones (no doubt a male) away. Spring is on it’s way!

Stopping to feed them drew my attention to this great cloud formation and colours reflected in the pond. A perfect morning moment.
The blue skies of yesterday didn’t materialise though it looked like being a fine morning but it wasn’t long before it was raining and sleeting (no doubt snow too on higher ground) so I think we caught the best bit of the day as can often happen with these early walks.

Liked the almost sepia look of todays blip taken at 8.14 am near then end of our walk. I haven’t done anything to it that’s just how it looked!
