A Day In The Life

Girls Only

MrsP wanted to go to the Post Office this morning but before we could leave I had to sand the step and walkway, plus make a path to the car so neither of us would fall on the ice. Yesterday’s sleet and today’s cold temperatures have made it challenging to move around outside • Since we were bundled up I suggested a stop at The Boat Landing to see what was around. We were surprised at the amount of open water as there was less ice today than on Saturday when it was warmer. No sighting of the goldeneye but there was a group of female common mergansers, and lots of seagulls, of course, plus two pairs of mallards • Quack-Quack • It seems odd that we’ve seen female mergansers several times over the past two weeks, but never the males…where are they? • The rare Stellar Sea Eagle was seen further north along the Maine coast over the weekend. With the amount of open water on the Kennebec River I’m hoping he’ll continue northward and stop in for a visit. Can you imagine seeing his 8’ wing span?!? • Stay cozy, and Be well, my Blip Pals :)
