OUT AND ABOUT WITH NEIL

Had a phone appointment with the physio at 10am  about my painful arthritic neck.  I have been doing the exercises she gave me ( but not as often as I should have ) and things have improved slightly.  Still quite a lot of pain when I move my neck but not so many headaches.  Ive made an appointment to see her in person next month to see how things are going.

Around 11am I got another phone call - this time it was the Pension Visitor from the company I used to work for.  He checks in regularly with the people on his list.

Around 11.40am I caught the bus to Swalwell. Neil had a day off today and we had arranged to meet up at 12 noon.   I had with me a pair of garden shears ( which Neil had requested ), some leather gardening gloves, and a trowel. ( which I decided he might need ). Since moving house last year Neil and Rachael now have a small garden - but no gardening tools. The lawn is getting long and Neil would normally borrow my mower but the grass was too wet so he's going to have a go with the shears.

We walked to Neils house to drop of the gardening kit and then we walked to The Metrocentre.  Our route took us alongside the River Derwent and quite near the River Tyne.  The weather was lovely - quite warm and very sunny.  I was glad of the fresh air and exercise.

Once we reached the Metrocentre we headed for Wetherspoons.  Neil had fish and chips.  I had 2 cups of coffee ( and I sneaked in a Slimming World chocolate bar to eat ).  We had a nice catch up.  Then Neil was off back home - he had been left a list of chores to do so he had to get back and make a start.

I had a mooch round the shops and made a few purchases.
