What a life!

I wish my life was this easy!! He has been curled up on the back of the sofa on Jon's cardigan all afternoon.

We had the hearing engineer and the cooker repair man here today. Both did the jobs they had come to do, but only one succeeded. So I have a working cooker now, but the heating is still the same. We have texted the engineer and he is coming back Thursday. It really is a mystery. We were so happy for an hour, until Jon went in the loft and saw the boiling water still pouring into the header tank.

It has been a subdued atmosphere. We feel fed up and don't know where next to turn. It's impossible to know how good local companies are. Have done all the usual searching for reviews etc, but in the end it is just a gamble. This chap seems knowledgeable and honest, so we just hope he can think of something else when he comes back.

I made prawn korma with cauliflower rice for dinner. Since then I've been trying to engage Jon in discussion about holiday plans, but he isn't interested. We know we will have to camp, but at the moment don't have any idea about what part of the country we want to head to. Somewhere different, or somewhere we have been before. Any ideas please? We like pretty villages with character, historical sites, places with nice coffee shops! Not Cornwall or Devon as we have been there in recent years!

Think I'll head to bed with my book now.
