Magic!

We’ve had a magical day.

Up early for a Saturday but we had to be in the city centre for a performance of The Snow Mouse in The Egg which is the studio theatre attached to the Theatre Royal, Bath.

The whole set was white fur but I forgo the white floor cushions for a fur covered box at the back. Worked well as it was somewhere for Jude to walk to and from. The kids loved it but a few of them cried at the end because the mouse had disappeared!

We then met the men at Boston Tea Party for Brunch. Very familiar from Bristol but there are two here in Bath which we’ve also been to before. A long queue to get in but the men already had a table which was great (nothing like walking past a queue!)

Grace and I then stayed in town for a bit of shopping whilst the men took the girls home. I noticed a long queue outside Sally Lunns too when we walked past. Everywhere busy being Saturday and it’s a long time since I’ve been in a city or town on a Saturday afternoon.

Back up the hill it was decided to take one of Eda’s Christmas presents, a kite, out to the ‘Green’. A pretty blustery day so perfect to give it a try. She was soon pretty good at it and was joined by her neighbours and children with their identical kite.

The wind was causing the clouds to scud over the city so that the light was changing every few minutes. I took the blip when rays of light came streaming through the clouds and just happened to catch the tail ribbons of the kite as it flew . You can see the village of Larkhall with St Saviour’s church prominent in the foreground

After the kite flying Eda wanted to roll down the green and a roly poly race was started between Eda and daddy.

More from today in the extra collage.

Settling down in front of a log fire now. Babysitting again tonight as Grace is going to a friend’s 40th and John meets up with a friend too.

Much better definition in large!
