Mesopotamia Station

Despite the weather forecast which was horrendous we the intrepid group travelled as planned up the Rangitata Valley to Mesopotamia Station.  It did rain and blow early on and we very nearly aborted our trip.  Decided to visit the Mt Peel Church and by the time we were leaving the weather was clearing.
The temperatures soared to 32 deg, the winds were extreme gale force.  But we continued on stopping many times along the journey.
Its now 9.30 pm and bed beckons - I've picked out a few and given them a quick edit. The group is a phone pic. The only one I took from my phone today.
A awesome day out with my friends - we do have fun.  But gosh, the weather threw all sorts at us today.  The wind blew up huge amounts of dust along the river bed, giving some interesting photography opportunities.
Somehow, we kind of skipped lunch as such, but did have a coffee and a nut bar and fruit.  A rather large ice cream was consumed at Geraldine on our way home.  A reviver.

I've tagged this for Wide Angle - Nature.....the photo is looking down into the valley,  and seeing what nature can deal, like wind and dust
