Treat Day

Tony had the excellent idea of us going over to Harlow Carr to buy some  alpines to replenish the rockery following the wall building, and he also mentioned we may just have lunch at Bettys there too.

We had a lovely morning.  Whilst Tony looked at the alpines, I wandered the gift shop and found a present for a friend and a new book for Euan.  We picked up a box of mixed wildflower seeds to fill some of the gaps in the mini meadow then headed to the restaurant.

We had a corner table with views out on to the garden and I spotted this character and had to blip it after we had eaten.  It is one of the four seasons created by artist and filmmaker Philip Haas.  I reckon this one is Summer.

After lunch we went back in to the nursery to buy some spring bulbs to plant alongside the wall and give us some colour before the meadow gets cracking.

In the Oxford Universe, Euan had a splendid report from Nursery and charmed a waitress in to sprinkling chocolate on his frothy milk.
