Out and away

We finally broke our indoor concert duck today. All previous concerts since the beginning of the pandemic have been basically outside/in big tents, and with social distancing in place.

We went over to the Usher Hall for the first concert in the SCO 2022 series, and very inspiring it was too. The musicians were self-evidently having a great time. Huzzah for live performance! The Usher Hall is a good place to overcome one’s residual fears about indoor events, as the seats are both comfortable and nicely socially distanced (and we sat at the end of a row). We’re not ready for a cramped concert at the Queen’s Hall where they pack you in, but we have now booked a small scale jazz concert there in April, with cabaret seating in the stalls.

Otherwise, I had a decent day at the home desk with some online meetings and reasonable progress on the to do list, so I was comfortable drawing the day to a close relatively early so we could have an early dinner and get out to the concert.
