If you can't beat them...

Winter Aconite ( Eranthis hyemalis )

First many thanks to all those of you who dropped in on my 3,000th blip and left comments, stars, and favorites.  They were very much appreciated.

While visiting Kanyl I saw this bright splash of colour, very eye catching on a dull miserable winter's day.  Aconite are as you might guess looking at them they are members of the Ranunculaceae - buttercups.  They are originally Italy, the Balkans, and France.
