Central London

I had the pleasure of meeting Kunle Kolade today who explained to me his work as playground manager at the Royal Parks. We met at his office in Kensington Gardens and he took me and the chair of the Friends of Hyde Park and Kensington Gardens through his aspirations and ideas for playgrounds, particularly to improve accessibility to the equipment for those less able to enjoy the apparatus.

Amazing to think that these facilities are in the middle of London.

It was an inspiring hour and Kunle's persuasive enthusiasm  was exciting. I now have a better understanding of the importance of design in playgrounds, particularly the inclusion of natural materials - wood, stone and planting.
