An ordinary life....

We will always be their friends....

They know too much :-)

David's back is still playing up to T & V took Lola for her long walk this morning.  Her doggy pal Milly was there too so she was very happy.

Our oldest friends (in length of friendship, not age :-) came for dinner and stayed over.  I made the deluxe Mac n cheese from The Spuntino cookbook, so started the prep after lunch as the cooked macaroni has to soak for at least two hours in full cream milk,  double cream, grated parmesan, mozzarella and dijon mustard.  Delicious but not a dish to have on a regular basis!  Agnes is veggie so thought I would make something we would all eat, rather than meat for us and a separate main for her.  Served with homemade spicy potato wedges, garlic flatbreads and a large salad.  Yummy!

Had a great catch up with them.  Their daughter Emily (our God daughter) has just gone to Amsterdam for five months to study marine biology as part of her Uni course.  She's the only student on the five month course from the UK.  It was touch and go whether the course would go ahead (thank you Covid) and a complete bureaucratic nightmare to organise (thank you Brexit) but she made it.

She's been there just over two weeks and is getting on brilliantly bearing in mind she had to self isolate for 5 days on arrival (if she'd travelled the following day she wouldn't have had to as the rule was scrapped!)  She has a small room this is very basic so she spent the time online buying essential such as some pots, bedding, towels and food!  I am sure she will have a fantastic and busy time.

And us oldies managed to stay up and more importably, awake! till just after 1am.  Party animals!  hahahahaha!
