Marjorie's ramblings

Immerse yourself in a rain forest

It’s been another treat of a day.

We started with Amazonia in The Science Museum. I took the image above to try to illustrate how the exhibition has been curated. Huge prints hang at different heights. As you walk among them you feel you are becoming lost in the jungle.

There are sections where there are portraits of various tribes of indigenous peoples. Wherever possible their names are given. What a lovely touch and how it should be.

In one room there is a twenty minute long series of projected stills with a soundtrack by Villa Lobos.

In the rest of the rooms, you hear a soundscape from the rain forest.

I cannot recommend this exhibition highly enough. Do go if you can.

We had coffee and a scone at the V&A where the queues were so long we nearly gave up!

The signposting in there is dire and finding a loo became a task from Kafka!!

We saw the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition at the Natural History Museum. Wonderful as always.

Tonight we were at the Riverside Studio for the opening of Bloody Difficult Women. We loved the play and thought the acting was excellent.

The receptionist has been to my room where the Wi-Fi came on - while he was here - and has promptly gone off again…..
