Last day in the “Sunshine State”!

Tuesday
We chose to spend our last day visiting John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in Key Largo, which includes 70 nautical square miles of adjacent Atlantic waters. Once again, we had to wait in a line of cars to get in, yet once we got in, there was still plenty of parking available, so we don’t understand why they were regulating entries! Unfortunately, it was quite a breezy day, so they weren’t running their usual boat trips and snorkeling trips, but we visited the visitor centre with several aquarium tanks, walked a couple of short trails, and found this lovely small beach to sit and relax on, with blue skies and waving palm branches above us. The immature ibis in my collage was wandering around quite happily among the people, quite unperturbed by our proximity! A lovely relaxing last day before beginning the long drive home tomorrow. We left the beach late afternoon, and went to a nearby seafood restaurant for dinner before returning to our Airbnb.
