A view from Jeanneb

Spring knocking at the door.

Another sunny morning.

I went into the garden and was delighted to find two of the pale blue miniature Iris ‘Clairette’ in bloom. I had one last year after they had disappeared for many years since planting so I’m really pleased they have come again and doubled in number.

The other dark blue/ purple ones are also starting to bloom (don’t know the name of this one). In the collage you can see two flowering in front of the many early, pale lilac crocus that have been out now for a good month, and there are more opening in the same bed.  The deep purple crocus are called Remembrance and we planted them a long time ago when we buried our cat Mimi. There were white ones planted as well but they seem to have disappeared or been overgrown by something else.

There are lots of seedlings below them, not all weeds, many of them are Forget Me Nots which will take over this bed in a few months. I like them and they pull out so easily when they have finished flowering.

So you could almost believe it is Spring, until you feel the February temperatures! Didn’t stay out too long.

More flowers in the extra. Another jigsaw lent by my friend along with the Edinburgh Castle. Decided to do it so I could give them back together. It’s not something I would have chosen but I enjoyed doing it.

Just started another whilst watching the Six Nations rugby. Another good game though Scotland have now fallen behind France a bit too much. A very good season of games so far despite England losing early on. Looks like it could be France’s year.
