Burbs

I’m staying in one of Johannesburg’s more privileged suburbs, near the Mozambique Consulate, which I will have to shuttle backwards and forwards to depending on how difficult the woman on the visa desk wants to make my request this time.

Johannesburg is said to be less segregated than Cape Town, and is certainly a powerhouse in many ways. Strolling the suburban streets of Rosebank and neighbouring districts, this is a very typical home of the South African elite.
