Life's Little Moments

Did you hear the one about...

...the catahoula/pit/heeler mix and the Treeing Walker Coonhound?

Okay, honestly, doesn't it look like they are having a conversation and that Jax is sticking his tongue out?  We had a very fun play date this afternoon with a Coonhound that a woman I know recently adopted.  Ziggy is 2-3 years old and was picked up as a stray in the South, eventually ending up at the same rescue organization we got Jax from.  He was severely underweight and not house trained when they got him - the guess is that he was in a pack of hunting dogs that the owners just released.  Anyway, he's a sweetie and he's only about 13 pounds heavier than Jax so they are pretty evenly matched.  Ziggy's owners have about an acre fenced so the two of them could really stretch their legs.  I forget how incredibly fast Jax is when he has the opportunity to run - he was faster than Ziggy.  I also forget what an enormously long tongue Jax has - see Extra.  I don't really know how he keeps that all in his mouth to be honest.

Anyway, an hour of play for the pups while their humans chatted about this and that.  Then I loaded Jax up and brought him home where he immediately crashed and burned on the sofa.  An excellent outing.

The rest of the day has been fairly mundane.  I worked on the Mac a while, just continuing to get things set up.  Phoebe is back to her normal self today so we think she just reacted to the beef liver yesterday (she won't be getting that again!).  Hubs has been on marathon zoom calls for work.  Pretty routine sort of day.

I'm thinking I may have a bit of that Ugandan chocolate with rice.

Tonight Hubs and the pup and the cats will snuggle in front of the fire and watch an episode or two of Ozark.  We weren't totally sold when we first started watching it, but it's grown on both of us.
