Day 9

Today’s main event (so far) has been all morning going around the city’s World War II Museum.

The guide book suggests it requires 3 hours at least, and that is accurate. It is a difficult experience. Certainly everyone who has been brought up on a British version of that war really should see this place and get an understanding of the bigger picture.

The Blip is one of the final rooms, which deals with the end of the war. A Russian tank. Yes, exactly.

First Extra is from the room which deals with the extermination and slave labour elements. It gives a face to some of the victims.

I had my lunch at the museum - spinach pierogi . Another highlight.

My 30 minute walk to the museum through the early morning frost and sunshine was another - Extra 2.

That may be it for highlights for today. After a generous hotel breakfast, a proper cooked lunch, and then coffee + cake mid afternoon, whatever I eat tonight will be modest!
