Symmetry

Today’s Wide Wednesday theme from host jensphotos is symmetry. I tried to take a photo similar to this one last week at the mission but they were rubbish. So today I revisited it.

These ceramic tiled pictures are of two Saints. On the left is St. Keteri Tekakwitha, a Native American. On the right is St. Francis. This scene is located on the side of the San Xavier Mausoleum Chapel.

The rest of the day was filled with a few smiles, great frustration and a bit of befuddlement. The frustration was, and continues to be, my inability to open a kitchen drawer. I believe that in both haste and stupidity I shoved a clipboard with some important papers attached into it. It’s caught under the front lip of the drawer allowing me to squeeze my hands through a space of about 3.5 cm wide. At one point, I forced both arms through, too. I almost called the fire department because one arm got stuck! I did manage to remove both appendages but have developed huge bruises and swelling on both arms and hands. And the drawer is STILL STUCK!

It wasn’t the source of my earlier smiles but definitely the frustration and 90% of the befuddlement.

Three guys die together and go to heaven. Saint Peter says, “we have only one rule. Don’t step on the ducks. They are God’s favorite creation.“

They enter heaven and there are ducks everywhere. It’s almost impossible to NOT step on a duck.

The first guy steps on a duck. Saint Peter comes and chains him to the ugliest woman he has ever seen and and says, “your punishment is to stay chained together forever.“
The next day, the second guy steps on a duck, and sure enough, Saint Peter comes with a really ugly woman and chains them together forever.

Seeing this, the third guy is careful for months, never stepping on a duck. One day, Saint Peter came along with a beautiful blue-eyed blonde. He chained them together without saying a word.

“Wow,” the guy says. “I wonder what I did to deserve this?“

The blonde said, “I don’t know about you, but I just stepped on a duck.“
