Bring Me Sunshine

A title I have used before and will use again!

Surprise, surprise.  We had another busy day but it was brightened by some sun.   Good news, the council turned up as we had been promised that they would and the bulk of the rubbish heaped on the drive has gone.  Inside, more cleaning and some sorting.   Much thinking and option considering.  An electrician arranged for Monday, there are some eccentricities about this place which need looking at although the consumer unit is new enough to offer considerable reassurance.   The electrician has given us names of a couple of plumbers/gas engineers so we can get a couple of issues resolved.   The dishwasher has been explored but has the look of a dead duck to me!   We also spent a bit of time out in the garden where rotten-in-places decking needed prodding and poking ..... think we're off to get a crowbar tomorrow.   We have a quote for its dismantling and disposal but the crowbar option is cheaper!   We will still pay for disposal.

We also took a walk out with Meg, along the high street (found out that Meg doesn't like double decker buses,) and the river path a short way below the high street.   Ruth went out for a haircut and we called in at the her new GP surgery and the pharmacy next door.   So much  better that living here these services are close by and hopefully the fun and games of chasing prescriptions and correcting errors that were a regular feature where she used to live, will become history once she is registered here.  (I had to phone the old surgery and make a second trip out to sort things today.)

I prefer my primroses wild and pale yellow but the large flowered, brightly coloured horticultural ones are eye-catching.  I bought some to brighten Ruth's garden.

Another meaty to-do list ready for tomorrow!
