Dream

Beautiful sunny spring day, but annoyingly I basically sat inside all day (save for one trip to get milk first thing and another with A and Paisley to the garden later) working through heaps of promotion cases.
Despite me urging A to go out and make the most of it, she pottered around then cleaned the flat and took Paisley out for a longer walk. Of course next weekend, when we’re going up north, it’s set to rain the whole time…grr!
Anyway, after some supper we did at least get some excitement and went to see Britten’s Midsummer Night’s Dream by Scottish Opera. A hard one for A’s first opera, but beautiful staging with beds floating in the sky, fantastical costumes and a fabulous children’s chorus. Loved Oberon’s countertenor voice….
It was long though…nearly three hours, so straight to bed when we got home! It was brilliant to see the theatre packed to the roof….it’s been so long since I sat in a full theatre and was brilliant when the applause thundered out at the end.
