Moving time

After our usual Saturday morning visit to the Parnell Farmer’s Market, hubby headed off to do his volunteering stint and I went across the road to help sister and brother-in-law get Mum’s stuff moved from her independent villa to the serviced apartment in the main building.  We were able to walk the 150 metres from one to the other and made very good progress. My sister and brother-in-law have been staying with Mum, as they’re between houses, so they’ve done a wonderful job of helping her declutter.  However, we’ve realised that more decluttering is necessary, but it could be difficult getting Mum on board with that. The decisions have to be made in the morning so we can ensure we’ve got everything into the apartment and sorted ready for Mum to stay there tomorrow night.

As we walked to and fro we passed by a large retaining wall, which is covered in plants.  I thought the red Hibiscus poking through the daisies (Latin American Fleabane, I think), looked rather nice.

Today there are 18,699 new community cases, taking the total number of active cases in the community to 206,288. Hospitalisations decreased by 3 to 853, with 17 people in intensive care, also down by 3. Sadly, another seven people died with Covid-19 overnight.
