The sun rises and sets on a new phase

Most of today was spent helping to move the last pieces of furniture and trying to find a home for all Mum’s bits and pieces.  Most of it is done, but there are a few small bits and pieces that Mum has to decide whether to keep or give away and there are pictures and mirrors to hang. We’ve got a dressing table, two bedside tables and a desk in our lounge that we have to dispose of, as there just wasn’t room for them in Mum’s apartment. Tonight is Mum’s first night in her new abode and she seems reasonably happy, which is a good start.

There wasn’t a lot of time for photos today, but I did take a quick photo of a rather delicate sunrise and another one of tonight’s sunset.

Today there are 14,494 new community cases. There are 896 people in hospital, of whom 18 are in ICU. Sadly, another eight people have died, the highest daily total in the pandemic so far. So, as case numbers start to decline, hospitalisations and deaths are rising.
