Muntjac

I walked to Letheringsett and back with A this morning. On the way back through the woods we spotted this muntjac. It stood still and watched as we walked by and I took some photos, then it carried on unconcerned. On the way back we got an ice cream from Harris & James in town, I had key lime as recommended by A - it was wonderful, lovely and refreshing.

Day 727 / Day 18 of no Legal Covid Requirements in England (for my record only)
A surge of cases in Hong Kong has led to a nearby city of 17.5m in China going into lockdown. Looking at the excess mortality report issued during the week, it was interesting to see that England and Wales were more 'accurate' in reporting Covid numbers than Scotland and most of Europe, North and South America if compared to excess deaths. Most 'accurate' was Australia and New Zealand and least 'accurate' were most of Africa and the Middle East / East. So the UK as a whole with 126.8 per 100k excess deaths was 102nd out of 191 countries for excess death rates, similar to France and Germany and certainly not one of the worst as had been reported. Interestingly Sweden had a much better rate at 91.2 per 100k and they didn't got in to lockdown, although did have restrictions. There is increasing concern about the c£125 a month it may cost per person to visit a relative in a care home every day. There are calls to continue to provide LFTs for free to care home visitors.
