Diary of an Edinburgher

Big buns!

Archie had a bit of a disturbed night again. One of his wee ‘turns’ - though it didn’t last as long as last time. Just a bit of running around, barking in the kitchen, not settling. Eventually tired himself out and went to sleep. He was fine in the morning.

Today we wanted to take a walk down by the canal and find the sandwich/cake shop that Becky told us about. It has terrific cinnamon buns. Say no more!

We called in to see if Pip wanted to come too. He did, but his mum was too busy. What a good boy he is. He doesn’t stop at every tree, every lamppost, every litter bin to sniff and/or piddle.

It was gorgeous down by the water. Not a ripple. (Extra) When we set off, we decided that it was quite cool - cold, even. But very soon the clouds dispersed, the sun came out and it was HOT, and we were over-dressed. We sat by the canal and watched the folk going by on bikes - could have been in Amsterdam (not really).

Then we found the cafe. Huge cinnamon buns! Nice coffee too, and a wee sit in the sun to eat them.

Home again, and at 5,706 steps, I decided that was enough for me. But JR and Archie decided to do more and went off down through Princes Street Gardens. (14,607 steps) But no, I did not ‘sort out my holiday wardrobe’ this afternoon. Plenty of time for that - it won’t take me long. JR has sorted hers, several times.

I was pleased to see this splendid graffiti - ‘Glory to Ukraine’.
