Sunny Saturday

We managed to fill every inch of our day with enjoyable and fulfilling jobs outside. Beginning after breakfast with a morning in Holt. My shopping list consisted of an ironing board cover and a new mop head. I got those and lots more. Henry came with Jon and I, but poor Mollie had to stay at home to self isolate. Technically according to the rules she doesn't have to - but after 2 years it feels wrong to just go out, even with a mask. She is mainly in her bedroom, but has been out for a walk today and this evening joined us in the garden for a barbecue.

We had lunch in the garden after our morning in Holt, then started on garden jobs. Henry cleaned the patio, Jon treated his kadai with a metal protector ready for the bbq this evening and I re-potted the bits of canna that looked alive! Plus I did some watering and pruning. When we finished, the patio looked lovely. We moved the furniture around along with plants in pots. Still a bit more to do tomorrow but time ran away with us, and we needed to get the bbq going. Then we all sat out as the sun went down, and Henry expertly cooked tea. It was cold and we all had hats, coats and extra blankets. Once we'd eaten dinner, we put the kadai onto its low legs and stoked the fire, and sat around it playing charades - an app on mollies phone, where we all have to give clues for the person guessing. Easy from our seats. The chill in the air didn't stop us enjoying our first outside evening of the year. We plan many more - here and on the beach - in 2022.

At 8.30 the fire had died down and we were feeling cold, so have moved indoors....where it is no warmer, but there are more blankets! So we are now catching up on Grantchester from Friday.

I've felt a lot more me today. Still a bit dizzy but generally with more energy and less brain fog. I think the extra dose of oestrogen is working. I'm hoping it continues...
