Russian around

I think the end of a long school term and the changing clocks have made for an elongated week as we were all absolutely shattered this evening.

Once we’d eaten and were chilling out, The Youngest grabbed some toys from the cupboard and set up a little shop whilst The Eldest took m’boy through her Russian and Chinese focussed history homework. As you might imagine, there’s been a fair bit of talk about Russia in particular at school, but still: Friday night in the casa de dunkyc and there’s a healthy discussion over communism, democracy and dictatorships?! Who are these children?!

Fortunately, The Youngest kept things grounded by charging me four million pounds for some silly putty and I was delighted with myself in pulling a prank on m'boy by removing the cadbury's creme eggs from their carton and substituting them with real eggs.

Phase 1 of Project House is reaching such an advance point (all new upstairs doors hung, offending light moved, painting of the second floor into the advance stages of a second coat) that discussions have now turned to the downstairs bathroom and the need to clear out the junkpile that currently occupies the space where it will go.

A weekend job for the offspring methinks….
