WEDNESDAY

Still playing catch up.  This is what we did on Wednesday.

First of all we drove to Daniel's Farm, Tea Room and Garden Centre in Wylam - about 8 miles from where I live.  We bought tickets to look round the farm.  There were lots of animals and a play area.  Astrid is too young at the moment for the activities but she did have a go on a little tractor  - see Extra ( and her Daddy had fun on a rope swing ). We looked round the farm shop and then went to the Tea Room.  The outdoor areas had been quiet with hardly any visitors but the Tea Room was very busy.  But we got a seat - and a high chair for Astrid.  There were a few other babies in there.

After drinking our coffee we had a short drive to Heddon on The Wall where we had a wander to look at the remains of Hadrians Wall as seen in my main blip shot.  ( See Extra for a photo of me, Becky and Astrid sitting on the wall.)  Emperor Hadrian arrived in Britain in AD122 and the wall at Heddon formed the north western border of the Roman Empire for over 300 years. The wall stretched from the west coast to the east coast - a distance of 75 miles.

Then we went to The Swan pub in Heddon for sandwiches and drinks.  Blip shot of me and Astrid was taken there.  Its a nice large pub and it wasn't busy.

Back home to chill out until it was time for tea.  Mike went to the local chippy and brought back fish and chips.  Not for me though.  I just had a few chips.  Didn't want to tempt fate as I was still suffering with heartburn/acid reflux.  We watched TV for the rest of the evening.

Neil and Rachael are having a great time in Palm Beach.  Neil and the lads went fishing -   he caught a mahi-mahi ( dolphinfish) which was then cooked for their tea ---- see Extra. They have also had a day trip to Miami.
