Weekend

Nice day, which started with beautiful blue skies but clouded over, although became warmer through the day. We’d thought of getting up early and going to the Pentlands, but in the end started more slowly, put a couple of loads of laundry on, then walked down to Stockbridge via the Mound and back via the west end and Grassmarket. We’d hoped to try out the new chocolate cafe Ocelot in Stockbridge but when we arrived it had a sign saying they were ‘unexpectedly closed’…grr! Still, we’d had a tasty Sicilian cannoli from the market and bought some lovely pastries from the Pastry Section shop, and sat outside Dobbies eating them with some coffee. Stockbridge itself was a bit dog filled and Paisley struggled a bit, but actually was better than she’s been for a while and enjoyed her wander around town. We walked back, stopping at Mary’s milk bar for an ice cream (fresh fig sorbet with cherry and marscapone…yum!) then home. Good to get a long walk in before the rest of the day, and we then chilled out and watched In The Heights in the afternoon….A is obsessed with Lin Manuel Miranda!
Refreshed, A then made chocolate mini egg nests for work tomorrow and I made roast lamb, yvecchi and Greek salad for supper.
Watched the final Stanley Tucci this evening. My Duolingo doesn’t seem to be helping me understand fast spoken Italian at all!
