Red-Crested Pochard

I had to go over to the building society in Fakenham today, so popped into Pensthorpe for a quick walk around. Not much around on the 'natural' bigger lakes, but I took this photo of a male red-crested pochard diving duck on the viewing lake. I love watching the diving ducks, diving down and seeing where they'll appear. Lots of families around during the holidays, and lots of tourists evident as you drive through Holt town centre (they think they have the right to cross regardless of the traffic).  I also picked up some fence paint from B&Q. This afternoon I did more IT admin and booked the Dawn chorus walk in May at Sculthorpe which starts at 5 a.m.!

Day 757 / Day 48 of no Legal Covid Requirements in England (for my record only)
The PM, his wife, and the Chancellor have all been fined by the Met Police for breaking lockdown rules, the PM's office said the fine was in relation to his 'birthday party' (a brief gathering according to the PM that only lasted 10 mins) in the Cabinet Room in Downing St in June 2020. The PM and his wife have both already paid and apologised and Boris says he won't resign. He is the first sitting prime minister to receive a punishment for breaking the law. Lots of calls for him to resign, and lots of other statements that now is not the time with the war in Ukraine - in reality I suspect his fate right now rests with whether the Chancellor resigns. The Met has referred at least 30 more fines today, taking the total to over 50, and work is ongoing.
