MV Hrossey

It’s always a relief to finally get on board the Hrossey to Orkney and beyond.
The bus journey to Aberdeen was uneventful and after a cup of coffee in Union Square and a short walk to the port and the waiting ship, I am one of the few passengers on board as I type. I imagine the cars are still waiting in their holding positions awaiting boarding.

I have a cabin which I booked lest daughter #1 who was meant to be my companion for the journey felt seasick. However she has had to cancel so I have the cabin for the few hours to 11pm for my own use. It is a bit of a luxury, to be sure.

By the time we dock in Kirkwall it will have been a long day and I will be grateful to the St Ola hotel for a comfy bed.
