Marjorie's ramblings

The day has flown by.

I went to see the "invalid" next door, aka Margret, who has a fractured 5th metatarsal and is in a heavy Moon boot. It's hard to rest when you are usually out and about every day.

We had a good catch up. Then she suggested we have a Sunday roast takeaway from the pub on Easter Sunday. I will collect the food and we will eat together at lunchtime. Mum will have her main meal in the evening, as usual. The plot was hatched!

This evening I was at the Hexham Photography Group. The speaker, Jacky Longstaff, showed some of her work from over the years. "Room" was a series taken on the Town Moor in Newcastle, "Cul-de-sac" were images taken on the causeway and the road to Lindisfarne, "Wanderings" were taken during Covid and included a lot of Lynemouth Beach, "Crossroads" were taken at crossroads in the city of Newcastle.

We saw these images on the screen, but she also brought along mono prints and some prints made using the gum bichromate printing process. These were of bricks found on beaches and areas of waste land. (I thought they looked like loaves of bread!)

My images are very different from hers, but it is always good to listen and learn from other photographers, especially experienced ones.
