Look who we met!

Sue and I went out today to repeat the recce for the Bardon Mill to Haltwhistle Walk. When we did it in late March, we were rained upon and it was hard to sort out the route in places. Today was fine and the walk seemed about half the length!

When we arrived in Bardon Mill, who did we meet but Robert Bluck and his wife, Elizabeth, (hope I remembered her name correctly). Robert did the Literary Walk for us a few years ago.

Neither looks any older at all. We had a great chat but had to stop to start our walk!!

We had no difficulty finding our way and had some good chats to other walkers. One group, from the Long Distance Walkers Association, were not interested in the Festival, because our walks are too short for them!

We met a couple who were ideal candidates. They were on holiday now, but not in Alnmouth, at HF, where they expected to be. Their holiday had been cancelled. That's three they had cancelled this year. Staffing seems to be a bit issue for some holiday providers. (I blame Brexit, but I may, of course, be wrong!!)

I cooked a Greek chickpea dish for our evening meal. Lovely.
