Cindy and Star

For me, the day started with a game of Catan with my sister-in-law Sam and my niece Beth at their house. Since Sam is new to the game, she benefited from extensive tutoring from both Beth and me, and won the game. Meanwhile, Mr hazelh and Alan popped out for a 32 mile cycle ride, and Paddy had a lie-in.

Just before midday, we piled into two cars with (most of*) our luggage, to cross town to the house of another of Mr hazelh's sisters and her family. Here nine of us had a wonderful afternoon centred on a feast of roast pork followed by strudel. Collie Star enjoyed plenty of attention, especially that of his mistress Jacinda, as blipped.

After Sam et al departed, leaving us here for the last two nights of our trip to Nottingham, the rest of us settled down to watch an old episode of Sherlock. Then it was time for bed in a room that has been completely redecorated and refurnished in honour of our visit. The room still smells faintly of paint. I feel like the Queen!

* My wonderful present from Christine was left behind. The plan is for Sam, Alan and Beth to bring it to our launch event for the Lorna Lloyd podcast series in Malvern on 24th May. This is somewhat appropriate since the present is related to Lorna's work.

Exercise today: none.
