Barefoot

Today felt like a pre-holiday day at work, tying up some things before the Easter break which conveniently includes two public holidays in both Tanzania and South Africa, as it does in the UK. I had a burst of productivity in the afternoon so I could relax into some Cape explorations over the weekend.

One of the characteristic things about Hout Bay beach is washed up kelp fronds from the extensive underwater forests along a lot of the coastline here. The pieces are huge; like seaweed on steroids.

I managed two beach strolls and although it was more blustery and cool than previous days I insisted on remaining barefoot on the sand as I assumed this is what genuine Capetonians would do.
