Richmond Falls

None of us slept well last night – the room was just too hot and we couldn’t work out how to turn the temperature down.  We were all pretty much worn out this morning – but the boys managed another big breakfast.    We headed to Richmond today – where TT’s mum lived until last year.  We haven’t visited since September of 2020.  It was very strange to be visiting, but not staying there.  We had a wander around the town centre, then down to The Station, before walking up by the river and back into town.  We found a lunch spot and had a very nice lunch.  We then hatched a plan and drove up the A68, with a stop off in Corbridge for a wander and to visit the wonderful Forum Books – bookshop.  A few purchases were made, and we continued on our way.  It was such a lovely bright evening and the drive home was really nice in the sunshine.

We were home in time for TT to join his whisky Zoomers, for BB to contemplate going out to meet up with friends- he didn’t as he declared he was just too tired, and for me to go out for a quick walk and to then watch some TV – The House of Maxwell.

The River Swale was very low, meaning not much action at the falls.  I spotted a hare on my walk tonight (extra).  It ran towards me, then noticed me and rapidly retraced its steps.  There was also a lovely sunset (extra).
