Fridge Art 6

The casual observer may not recognize the radical shift in form presented here, after the artist's many years creating works within the exacting constraints of an extremely limited palette of magnets acquired more or less by chance one afternoon while taking a walk around a restaurant which had been closed for the winter. Now, after years of slow accumulation, additional magnets which have slowly found their way around the sides and upper portion of the refrigerator, have suddenly appeared here in this new work incorporating materials of surprisingly diverse sizes, shapes, and patterns. Whether this piece represents a radical break in approach, heralding a new phase in creative growth, or simply a passing fancy inspired by a parental visit for Sunday brunch, remains to be seen.
